Wheel-throwing Fundamentals - Wednesday Evenings - Summer '25

This 4-week mini-course is perfect for beginner, intermediate, and even advanced students who want to improve their pottery skills. The short length is a great and flexible way of giving wheel-throwing a try. The first half of the course will be dedicated to throwing on the wheel, focusing on two different forms. During the latter half, students will work on trimming and glazing. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process to create stunning and unique ceramic pieces.
Intermediate and advanced students will have the opportunity to discuss and define specific goals and techniques they want to explore with our instructors. These include but are not limited to lidded forms, throwing larger vessels, and a variety of surface decoration techniques.
A couple of things to note:
- A block of clay as well as all glaze and firing costs are included in the registration fee. Additional clay can be purchased from us at the studio.
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting clay on. Aprons are not provided.
- Students are required to bring their own hand-towel to class.
- Classes are for students ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.
- All courses are non-refundable.
- There are no partial refunds for missed classes.
- Although not guaranteed, we will try to accommodate one makeup class per 4 week session. Please notify us at least 7 days in advance.
- If registration doesn't reach the minimum number of students, we reserve the right to reschedule the class.
